dropgif is beta software and makes use of brand-new html5 features - expect bugs

currently it's running in Google Chrome and Firefox 4 but should work in any browser that implements Web Workers and the FileAPI

known bugs:

• very large/long animations crash both firefox and chrome when trying to save the generated image.
  
  this is due to them not handling large data urls very well. hopefully this will get better as they become more widely used.
• firefox creates a url file instead of an image file when dragging and dropping the generated image.
  
  again, browsers having trouble with data urls. workaround: right-click the generated image and choose "save as."
